"This is my commandment, that you love others as I have loved you" - John 15:12

The Bible describes Jesus as someone filled with compassion for those he met; who prayed for them and then went on to meet their deepest needs.  Our challenge, as a church, is to live up to this example through our Pastoral Care Framework - where it is seen as the privilege and responsibility of the whole church, to share the love of God with one another, in encouragement and support, love and concern.  No-one is immune from difficulty, loss or pressure.  We all struggle at different times and as God's family we want to be there to care for one another.  "The task of pastoral care involves assisting people to develop, grow and mature spiritually in spite of the difficulties of life" (Eugene Peterson).

We recognise that God has equipped each of us differently with abilities and talents to provide that care for one another, and being mindful of this, we have adopted a "whole church" approach to implementing Pastoral Care that is discreet, coordinated and specific.
